Terms of Use

These terms apply when you read South Salt Lake Residents Directory, follow an outside link, or use a sponsored search box. The site is a private reference, not a government office or records custodian. By using it, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please stop using the pages.

1. What This Site Provides

South Salt Lake Residents Directory describes and links to public rolls, record indexes, directory collections, and access routes connected with South Salt Lake, Salt Lake County, and Utah. It does not host the government records themselves and is not affiliated with the Assessor, Recorder, Elections office, courts, libraries, archives, or any other custodian.

2. Lawful Rules for Use

Use the site for lawful research and personal reference. You may not use the pages or anything reached through them to:

  • Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm another person
  • Locate someone protected by a restraining or protective order
  • Commit identity theft, fraud, or impersonation
  • Make an FCRA-regulated decision involving credit, employment, tenant, or insurance matters
  • Scrape, republish, or copy the site at scale
  • Disrupt the pages, widgets, or security of the service

3. No Consumer Reporting Agency Status

This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. Nothing on these pages, and nothing returned by a linked search tool, is a consumer report. It may not be used to decide credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another purpose regulated by the FCRA.

4. Outside Portals and Services

County and state portals, court systems, library catalogs, archive pages, and sponsored search providers have their own terms and privacy practices. We do not control their content, availability, fees, results, or data handling. Review their rules before submitting information.

5. No Promise of Accuracy

The pages are supplied “as is” and “as available.” We do not promise that a description, fee, link, coverage date, result, or portal is complete, current, or correct. The custodian office is the place to verify or correct a record.

6. Liability Limits

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the site operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar loss arising from use of this site or an outside resource, including an action taken from a record found through it.

7. Your Responsibility to Protect Us

You agree to defend and hold the site operators harmless from claims, demands, losses, and reasonable attorneys’ fees arising from your misuse of the site or breach of these terms.

8. Original Site Material

The site’s original writing, layout, design, and logo are protected by copyright. Linking to a page and quoting a short attributed passage is allowed. Full-page republication and systematic copying are not permitted without written consent.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may change these terms by posting a replacement version. Your continued use after the new version appears means you accept the revised terms.

10. Restricting Access

We may block or limit access without notice when a user violates these rules, abuses a search service, or threatens the site’s operation or safety.

11. Utah Law Applies

These terms are governed by Utah law, without applying conflict-of-law principles. Utah’s public-record framework is the Government Records Access and Management Act, Utah Code Title 63G, Chapter 2, including §§63G-2-201 through 63G-2-205. GRAMA controls requests to a custodian; it does not make this private directory a records office.

12. If One Clause Fails

If a court finds one provision unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
