Privacy Policy

This policy explains what South Salt Lake Residents Directory receives when you read a page, use a search box, or contact us. The site is a private reference to public-record routes in South Salt Lake, Utah. It does not host the county roll, court file, deed, directory volume, or vital record. Those public records are controlled by their own custodians and their own privacy rules.

Information You Send Us

If you write to us, we receive the details in your message and use them to answer the question. The protected search widgets are supplied by a third-party provider. A name, phone number, or address entered into a widget is sent to that provider, not stored as a resident file by this directory. Do not send a Social Security number, full date of birth, financial data, or a protected address in an email.

Ordinary Technical Logs

Our hosting service may keep routine server information such as an IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps. We review it in aggregate for site health and traffic patterns. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics or advertising measurement when those services are enabled. The logs do not turn this site into a public-record custodian.

How We Use Site Data

We use information to operate the pages, fix faults, understand broad readership, and reply to messages. We do not build an individual resident profile from visits and do not sell a visitor list. A third-party search provider may have separate uses and terms for information submitted to its form.

Links to Custodian and Search Sites

Pages link to Salt Lake County Assessor and Recorder services, Utah election and court portals, vital records, libraries, archives, and other outside resources. Once you leave this site, the destination’s privacy statement controls what it receives. Read the destination policy before submitting a request, especially where an official form asks for identity or eligibility documents.

Who Processes Technical Data

Hosting and support providers may process server logs for ordinary operation. Analytics or advertising services may receive the limited automatic information described above. We disclose information when a valid legal process requires it, or when needed to protect the site, its users, or the public from misuse.

Security and Retention

The site uses an encrypted connection. Logs are kept only while they serve the operational purposes above or while a provider’s normal retention rules require them. There are no user accounts or directory profiles here, so the site does not maintain a password database for visitors.

Children and Minors

This reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has sent us information, a parent or guardian may contact us so we can review and remove it from our mailbox or records.

Utah Data Rights

Utah residents may have rights under the Utah Consumer Privacy Act, Utah Code Title 13, Chapter 61, including access, correction, deletion, portability, and certain opt-out choices. The law’s effective provisions and exemptions apply to the data and organization involved. Because this directory keeps little direct visitor data, a request normally means checking our contact mailbox and applicable server records. Use the Contact page to ask. Public records held by Utah, Salt Lake County, or South Salt Lake offices are outside our control, so removal or correction requests for those belong with the custodian.

Changes to This Policy

We may revise this policy when the site, providers, or Utah privacy requirements change. The new version will appear on this page with its updated text. Continued use after a revision means the revised policy applies to later visits.
